Building Chris and Chris Anderson

Thursday night of last week was a great night. I was off work that day, and we decided it would be a perfect evening for a little Christmas treat that we had planned for the boys. We had decided to take Dane and Aidan to Build-a-Bear, and let them make a special gift for one another for Christmas. Dane would make Aidan the animal he wanted, and Aidan would make one for Dane. On the way, we decided to make a stop at my Uncle Tom and Aunt Carol's house to let Harper talk to this guy for a little while:

Harper has now been enlightened on all things related to the economy, FoxNews, suspense fiction novels, and Blue Bell ice cream.

And Build-a-Bear? Build-a-Bear was a hit. We weren't planning to let the boys get clothes for their animals, but then (1) the boys spied the Star Wars costumes for the animals and (2) Brandon and I realized that we could use $15 worth of coupons on our little excursion.

I don't know what Aidan enjoyed more: the bear-making or the cute bear-maker.
After the animals are selected, stuffed, stitched, brushed, and clothed, Dane and Aidan got to select a name and print their birth certificates. Dane's Darth Vader bear (who wears white undies to sleep in after he takes off his Darth Vader costume) is named "Chris" and cannot wait to make his Christmas Day debut. And Aidan's puppy (dressed as a clone trooper with green boxer shorts underneath for bedtime) was promptly named "Chris Anderson". I have no. idea. why they came up with these names for their animals.
We finished off the evening with dinner at Los Cucos (spanish for "Our fajitas our great, but we won't bring you a plate to eat them off of no matter how many times you have asked for one".) and wondered again how Aidan manages to outgrow his blue jeans despite only consuming rice and tortillas.

All in all, a great evening. I love this time of year, and look forward to more fun nights with my little family.
