Who Am I?

Mandy: Wife of a High School Youth Minister, mommy to two jedi knights their precious little sister, and a China doll who joined our family September 2010. Daughter of the King. In my spare time I like to work as an RN in an Emergency Room and read books I don't learn anything from. And I often find myself saying things like "underwear is not optional" "why are there crayons in your diaper?", and "please stop licking your sister."

Dane Christopher

Dane is our smarty-pants 8 year old. A people pleaser, Dane loves reading, legos, running, sports, learning memory verses, going on adventures, and holding babies. He's our biggest boy, and we are so proud of him!

Aidan Cooper

Just 20 months younger than his "big brothew Dane-o", Aidan is our strong willed, spirited, passionate boy. Loves his stuffed animals, Legos, cooking, and most of all, his brother Dane. Aidan keeps us on our toes, and teaches us new things about parenting all the time.

Emerson Jing Long

Emerson is our precious 4 year old daughter who joined our family on September 6, 2010. Talkative, outgoing, and full of sass and smiles, Emerson is the perfect addition to our brood. We learn a little bit more about our newest daughter each day, and love her more with each passing moment. We can't imagine our family without our sweet Emerson!

Harper Sloan

At 2 years old, Harper is our princess of destruction. She loves attention, strawberries, playing in the water, taking her clothes off, eating hot dogs for breakfast, her brothers and sister, and shoes. Her antics remind us every day that we need better baby-proofing!

7/2008- application submitted to adoption agency

7/2008- pregnant! application put on hold...

7/2009- application reactivated

9/2009- home study visits

8/09-11/09- assemble dossier

11/2009- submit 1-800A to USCIS

12/2009- I-797 approval from USCIS

12/2009- submit dossier for state certification

1/2010- submit dossier for authentication

1/2010- submit dossier to agency

2/5/2010- DTC! (dossier to China!)

2/10/2010- LID (Dossier logged in to CCAA)

3/19/2010- Agency called with a referral. Seriously. 35 days after DTC.

3/20/2010- LOI (Letter of Intent) sent to agency

4/5/2010- travel paperwork sent to agency

4/13/2010-Submit I-800A Supplement 3 to USCIS

5/4/2010- LOA (Letter of Acceptance) received from China

5/11/2010 I-797 approval on I-800A with Supplement 3 received from USCIS

5/12/2010 I-800 application sent to USCIS

6/7/2010- I-800 provisional approval

6/11/2010- NVC confirmation of I-800

6/12/2010- I-800A, I-800, NVC confirmation sent to agency

6/18/2010- paperwork sent from agency to US Consulate

7/9/2010- Consulate issues Article 5 to CCAA (China) asking them to issue travel approval

7/20/2010- apply for Visas

7/29/2010- Travel approval

8/2/2010-9/1/2010- arrange for travel

9/1-2010- 2 week trip to China to bring Emerson home!

9/6/2010- Gotcha Day!
